Willow Murillo, Energy Healer, Reiki Healer, Shamanic Healer
Hi, My name is Martha Murillo, also known by my spirit name, Willow. I am humbled and excited to join the Sierra Madre community and share my offerings of this life’s journey with you.
I come to you from ancestral Indigenous roots in Michoacan and Zacatecas Mexico. I am a mother to two daughters and grandmother to a grandson who makes my heart dance with joy. I am happiest tending to my garden, listening to music, dancing and traveling. I’ve been an entrepreneur for over 25 years and recently left a career in the non profit sector to pursue my calling and my passion for Energy Healing.
My influence in the healing arts began as a child witnessing my grandmothers, mother and tias utilizing mexican home remedies to heal ailments such as punzadas de oido (earache) and empacho (stomachache), sobadas (similar therapeutic massage) to ease a sore throat or performing a “barrida” (aural clearing) to remove “susto” (anxiety/stress) among many others.
Answering the Call of the Medicine
I was called to the Medicine in 2016. I flew to Peru and began my personal journey with don Lucho, a Master shaman of the Cocama tribe. I had no idea why or what to expect but I knew it would be profound. On my return from the jungle I found myself struggling to ground and to find my place and purpose. This became a difficult time in my life because, as I was finding my way, my marriage was ending after 23 years. I felt betrayed, scared, angry, confused and overwhelmed with emotions that felt unbearable at the time. I felt myself spiraling into a dark place. My once thick, curly hair was limp and falling by the handful; I had lost 24 pounds in one month because I could not swallow my food. The emotional pain was unbearable and eventually I was put on antidepressants. Holding that pill in my hand was my turning point and as I fell down to my knees, I allowed myself to surrender, to feel, to listen and trust in my Higher Power.
I found a local meditation group and began building relations with like-minded healers; I began integrating my work from Peru and started to form my personal practice.
As I deepened my relationship with my Shamanic practice I reconnected with my ancestors through my childhood memories and I soon realized that I had been using Curanderismo with my own children all along and that healing came naturally to me.
Soon after, I obtained my first Reiki attunement which I felt would compliment my shamanic practice. It did.
Healing Modality
In my Energy Healing style I believe that by blending ancient practices of Curanderismo, Shamanism, and Reiki we - you and I, can address the whole person: body, emotions, mind, relationships, and spirit.
Whether you choose a Reiki session or an Energy Healing session -where I combine various healing approaches, each session is unique to you and begins with a brief discussion to ground us and to better understand the areas of focus at that moment.
I consider this path to be one life-long learning journey, and I am committed to continuing my inner work in order to be of service to the best of my ability, to my community, to persons from all walks of life, sexual orientation/identification, spiritual, and religious paths.
I have found my purpose through my journey which I honor with love and gratitude; I have learned to love and appreciate every moment spent healing my energy, my spirit and my heart. I look forward to sharing my gifts with you.
